Rates

Prices for Hostel Hoff depend on how long you are staying. A minimum 1 month stay is required however during quiet times shorter stays will be considered.

1. For those staying under 3 months, the cost is 13 Euro per night for the first month and then 12 Euro per night for the second and third month.
2. For those staying for more than 3 months the cost is 11 Euro per night for the entire stay.
3. One private double bedded room is available for an extra cost of 2 Euro per person per night.
4. Two private twin bedded rooms are available for an extra cost of 1 Euro per person per night.

***Please note - from the 01st July 2012, there will be an increase of 1 euro per person per night.  This is due to a large increase in food costs***

Note: All services including food must be included in the price, half board is not available. Vegetarians are catered for.

Volunteer visa costs

To volunteer in Tanzania you will require a Class C Resident/Volunteer visa and there are 2 steps towards this.  First you need to obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at the airport or border crossing (USD$100 if on an American or Irish passport, USD$50 for everyone else).  Then once in Moshi, we need to change that over to the Class C Resident/Volunteer visa.  For this you will need to bring the below documents/payment :

* Passport photcopy

* 6 passport photos

* CV/Resume

* Education certificate (high school or university certificate or copy of grades)

* Volunteer visa payment of USD$550 (in USD notes printed on or after 2001)

This visa fee is implemented by the Tanzanian government and it is mandatory to anyone volunteering within Tanzania.  It is completely out of our control.

Booking procedure / conditions

To book, please contact us directly via email.  No booking is secure until the deposit has been paid.  The deposit is calculated as 25% of the cost for your stay and is non refundable (of course, circumstances will be taken into account, but you will not be refunded if you hook up with a Maasai and move into his Boma, for example!)

This 25% deposit is taken off the final ¼ of your stay.

Deposit can be paid via paypal (incurs a 4% fee) or bank deposit.

Final payment can be made during your time at Hostel Hoff and can be accepted in Euro, USD or Tanzanian shillings cash.  Please note that in Tanzania USD bills are only accepted if printed on or after 2001.
